- Part-time positions for the Academic Year 2012/13 (Oct. '12 - May '13).
- Between 2 & 12 one-hour tutorials per week.
- All Tutor positions are subject to the approval of the Head of Department.
We are currently looking for suitable candidates (approx. 10) for the Academic Year 2012/13. Candidates must have a sufficient undergraduate mathematical background to be considered. Preference will be given to Postgraduate Mathematics & Statistics students. The Department runs tutorials for all undergraduate programmes.
Tutors will be expected to:
- Present tutorials
- Correct homeworks
- Maintain tutorial records
- Liaise with the relevant Lecturer(s).

Statistics Tutor Vacancy Academic Year 2012/13

We are currently looking for a suitable candidate for the Academic Year 2012/13. Candidates must have a sufficient
undergraduate mathematical background to be considered. Preference will be given to Postgraduate Mathematics & Statistics students. Candidates will be expected to assist the Lecturer with 3rd Year students who are taking modules MT361S, MT364S and MT366S. Only applicants who have covered the material in modules MT361S, MT364S and MT366S will be considered for the position.
The Statistics Tutor will be expected to:
- Present tutorials
- Correct homeworks
- Maintain tutorial records
- Liaise with the relevant Lecturer(s).

Mathematical Computing Demonstrators - 2nd Science

Candidates will be expected to assist the instructor with 2nd Year Science students who are taking Mathematical computing classes as part of their 200 level modules. Demonstrators will also be expected to correct homeworks and maintain records.
Only applicants with some experience of the packages Maple/Minitab will be considered for this position. Preference will be given to candidates who have covered the material in all associated courses.
Please note that, in accordance with legislation, demonstrators are entitled to holiday pay at a rate of 8%. This is payable at the end of the academic year.

MT371A Demonstrator - Intermediate= Demonstrating only.
MT371A Demonstrator - Senior = Demonstrating, student assessments, and grading.
Candidates will be expected to assist the Lecturer with 3rd Year students who are taking course
MT371A. Demonstrators may also be expected to correct homeworks. Only applicants who have covered the material in course MT371A will be considered for this position. Preference will be given to candidates who have other programming experience.

(using the programming language C). Only applicants who have C programming experience will be considered for this position.

MSC Tutors will be expected to:
- Attend the MSC at the assigned hours and maintain excellent timekeeping.
- Act in a professional and responsible manner.
- Work according to the training received from the Manager and Director of the MSC.
- Liaise with the MSC Manager on all matters relating to the MSC.

We are currently looking for one suitable candidate for this position for the Academic Year 2012/13, no mathematical background is required.
MSC/Writing Centre receptionist will be expected to:
- Attend the MSC at the assigned hours and maintain excellent timekeeping.
- Be personable at all times and act in a professional and responsible manner.
- Have good communication and organisational skills.
- Have good basic computer skills.
- Liaise with the MSC Manager on all matters relating to the MSC.
